FUNCTIA TIROIDIANA LA COPIII HIPOACUZICI IMPLANTATI COHLEAR

REZUMAT

Hipotiroidia congenitală se poate asocia cu hipoacuzie. Totuşi, prevalenţa patologiei tiroidiene la copiii cu hipoacuzie severă sau profundă nu este clară.

Autorii evaluează funcţia tiroidiană la un grup format din 30 de copii cu hipoacuzie neurosenzorială profundă bilaterală, implantaţi cohlear, pentru a determina dacă există o asociere între hipoacuzia congenitală severă şi hipotiroidie. Valorile serice ale TSH şi tiroxinei libere au fost normale la copiii studiaţi. Nu a fost diagnosticat nici un copil cu sindrom Pendred. Sunt prezentate datele din literatură referitoare la asocierea hipoacuziei cu patologia tiroidiană şi importanţa testării de auz la copiii diagnosticaţi cu hipotiroidism congenital.
